Who's a failure?

ME! For not posting a blog properly for the past two days. And even more than that, nothing really excited has happened!
Yesterday we had our first economics class, and due to my awkward sleeping patterns over the previous few days, I was kind of dozing off a bit for the first... 30 minutes or so. While sitting in the center of the front row. Oops. But then our professor mentioned Sony and Toshiba and I thought, "Oh, now this applies to me!" And began to actually listen. Turns out economics is really, really interesting. I'll see how the next few classes go though before I consider adding a third minor.
We learned about Japan's huge deficit. A massive deficit plus a declining population does not spell good news for young people here. No wonder the suicide rate is so high. But somehow despite all of this deficit, the yen is very strong right now. About 85 yen to the dollar. But then again the dollar is really weak right now. Damn. So the dollar is weak, the yen is strong, and this summer is apparently unusually hot. I think we came at the wrong time.
But to be honest, for the most part I've gotten used to the heat and humidity. It doesn't really do awful things to my hair, except when my bangs get wet and start to curl But the one thing I can't get used to are the bug bites. That medicine you sent to me, mom and dad and grammy and papa, is being put to work!

And then yesterday we had our Japanese class and it went pretty well overall. I got full points on my kanji quiz again and only missed one on the other quiz we took. Like a boss.

So yesterday as well we got an email from IPO's Marie. And by us I mean all exchange students from Linfield, not just the one's in Japan. Anyway, she warned us to stay away from US consulates and embassies, as there is a worldwide Koran burning. I'm about 97% sure this will have absolutely no effect on those of us here. But anyway, if you hear anything about it on the news, let me know!

Anyway, today I have no plans! Sad. So it'll become a homework day, I suppose. Maybe tomorrow I'll go out and do something. I'm really tempted to venture to World Porter's mall in Yokohama again and buy Kiyoshi's new single. Check the preview:

Alright, I'm off to get lunch!
